HKIE Scheme A Graduate Training

Kum Shing offers young engineering talents a comprehensive career plan. Our engineering graduate training program ‘Scheme A’ that is approved by The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), covers the 3 major fields of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and civil engineering. Not only does this program provide competitive packages, but also on-the-job training of relevant professionals. Moreover, Kum Shing encourages employees to pursue continuous learning by providing a scholarship of up to HKD120,000.

Diploma Apprenticeship and Industrial Attachment Programs

Kum Shing places a strong emphasis on providing practical work experience through apprenticeship programs for diploma or advanced diploma graduates. These programs enable graduates to apply and practice the skills they have learned in college. Kum Shing has collaborated with the Vocational Training Council (VTC) providing additional support and job opportunities for students in the Civil Engineering Department. This partnership allows us to forge closer connections with young individuals aspiring to enter the engineering industry.

Management Trainee Program

The goal of the Management Trainee Program is to cultivate exceptional individuals with high potential into accomplished business leaders who share a common set of values. This fast-track program spans 30 months and offers you the opportunity to delve into various Business Line Departments and Support Functions. You will have the flexibility to refine your skills and gain hands-on experience in the areas that align with your interests. Additionally, you will benefit from comprehensive training and development, including executive coaching, mentorship, and buddy support, which will provide you with a well-structured learning experience both internally and externally. Vocational Professionals Admission Scheme (VPAS)

Kum Shing supports the recruitment of non-local workers by participating the Vocational Professionals Admission Scheme (VPAS) organized by VTC.  This scheme provides the non-local students with the Internship Opportunity and VPAS Scholarships to study in HK and then stays in HK to work. This scheme helps the industry to attract new technicians and professional talents from overseas.

 

Summer Internship Program 

The 6-week internship program welcomes all students with a diploma or above pursuing STEM-related disciplines to join. This program embodies 3 major features, including personal mentorship, inter-departmental working practice, as well as the opportunity to interact with the CEO and senior management team. Interns will gain valuable job exposure and expand their network in preparation for post-graduation career planning.

Part-time Internship Program 

To develop young talent pipelines for the future, we provide the students who are studying in the tertiary institutions with the opportunity to work for us throughout the year.

Job Shadowing

In order to nurture potential young talents to join our company or industry in the long run, we invited four Form Five students from the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians Siu Ming Catholic Secondary School to our headquarters office for a two-day Job Shadowing program organized by Junior Achievement Hong Kong (JA). The program brings students to companies for an up-close look at professionals at work, allowing them to acquire hands-on understanding of specific industries and job categories.
