Since 1982, Kum Shing has been a contractor for public lighting engineering projects in Hong Kong, providing management, operation, installation, and maintenance services for the government and public utilities’ public lighting systems. As of today, we assist the government in operating and managing over 100,000 streetlights across Hong Kong.

With its rich engineering experience in public lighting, Kum Shing has participated in numerous landmark projects, including the design, supply, and installation of the lighting system at the Hong Kong Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, as well as a service contract by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) for the installation of high mast and high-level lighting systems across Hong Kong.

Kum Shing was the first Hong Kong-based corporation to participate in the government’s pilot program on smart lighting. Leveraging industrial design from Italy, software development from Singapore, and urban design and planning expertise from the United States, Kum Shing has developed the “City Sense” smart street lighting system solution to support the Hong Kong government’s “Smart City Blueprint for Hong Kong”. Kum Shing has introduced smart street lighting management systems that enhance system reliability and reduce energy consumption.
