Tung Chung Line Extension Power Supply System Project
Tung Chung Line Extension Power Supply System Project
Kum Shing engaged with commitment in the engineering works for the power supply system of the MTR Tung Chung Line Extension, Siu Ho Wan Depot Phase 1 and Oyster Bay Station, including design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance.
This contract represents significant breakthroughs in multiple areas. Kum Shing has taken on the joint venture leadership role in a power supply system project for a new railway line. Additionally, it is the first railway E&M contract awarded under the NEC4 ECC – Option C framework. By adopting the NEC4 approach, Kum Shing brings not only our extensive railway experience but also innovative technologies and ideas, such as BIM (Building Information Modelling), to ensure the successful completion of the project.
The Tung Chung Line Extension Project is one of the seven railway plans outlined in the ‘Railway Development Strategy 2014’ proposed by the Development Bureau in 2014. With an anticipated completion date of 2029, the extension aims to enhance the railway and public transportation network in Northern Lantau Island. It will strengthen connections between communities, support residency in the area, and accommodate the sustained growth of the working population in the long term.
