In prepare for the construction of the Shatin to Central Link, Kum Shing conducted an archaeological survey by providing related information for the assessment of the feasibility of the construction of a pedestrian subway connecting Sung Wong Toi Station and the Pak Tai Street, and its possible route.

The project included a lot of archeological fieldwork and a great deal of coordination with the local community, MTR and the government bodies including the Antiquities and Monuments Office, Antiquities  Advisory Board and the Railway Development Office. Outstanding negotiation and public relations skills have been essential.

Selected measures were enacted to protect existing nearby buildings, structure and utilities. The team also had to limit and control ground movements and ensure vibration limits during installation of vertical retaining elements and excavation.
