In Hong Kong, electricity is mainly transmitted to users in various places through overhead lines and underground cables from power stations. Compared to underground cables, overhead lines are exposed to external factors such as weather and environment, requiring regular maintenance and equipment optimization.

As early as 1995, Kum Shing began providing maintenance and upgrade services for overhead lines for CLP, ranging from low voltage to 33 kV, and expanded to 132 kV and 400 kV. Kum Shing services ranging from entire distribution to transmission, including maintenance of cable poles, towers, and various types of power equipment, emergency repair services from the frontline to the management level, as well as planning, permit applications, and public engagement.

When undertaking overhead line projects, the Kum Shing team strictly adheres to safety guidelines, taking numerous safety measures. For example, workers use independent rescue ropes and double-hook safety belts, workers closely monitor personnel and instruments to maintain the minimum safe distance from high-voltage cables to prevent electric shock.

Our overhead line works had gained various awards and recognitions in the industry, including:

2023 Outstanding Environmental Management & Performance, Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme – Silver
(Development Bureau)

2022 Life First 2022 Award – Merit Award
(Construction Industry Council)
