Kum Shing has been supporting Environmental Protection Department under a Design-Build-Operate (DBO) contract for the Chemical Waste Treatment Centre (CWTC) since 2020. The scope of work includes the replacement of incineration line, clinical waste sterilization system and pressurized gas cylinder treatment facility, as well as the replacement of various major equipment, to enhance the facility for future needs.
The CWTC Project is a breakthrough in many areas. It is the first 15-year long DBO contract. Meanwhile, building the largest Clinical Waste Sterilization System in Asia enables non-stop handling for clinical waste during the maintenance period of existing incinerator.
