URA Contract Awarded for Kowloon City Underground Utility Diversion

Kum Shing has been awarded the contract by the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) for underground utility diversion works as part of the Nga Tsin Wai Road / Carpenter Road Development Scheme.

This project is a key component of the URA’s broader initiative to revitalize the area through integrated urban renewal efforts. The development aims to restructure the area, enhance community planning, expand green and public spaces, improve connectivity, and preserve cultural heritage. Highlights include the re-provisioning of G/IC facilities, creation of a gateway square, improved pedestrian and traffic networks, and the introduction of underground parking to support a more vibrant and accessible urban environment. Kum Shing’s project team will be responsible for the design and construction work involved in the relocation of underground utility pipelines for electricity, water, drainage, telecommunications, lighting, and gas. The team will also maintain close communication with community stakeholders and monitor the structurally significant pre-war buildings to ensure their safety throughout the construction period. Despite the challenges posed by dense infrastructure and complex site conditions, our experienced project team is well-prepared to manage the works effectively.

As a long-standing member of the Kowloon City District, Kum Shing is delighted to contribute to the renewal and development of the community we’ve proudly supported for decades.
