Mr Rex Wong, JP joined Kum Shing as Project Manager in 2008. He led the corporation’s business development in the Mainland since 2009 and has been successful in kick starting a real estate investment and property development practice focusing on urban renewal and adaptive reuse projects. Having implemented a total quality management system, he led the corporation to win the HKMA Quality Award.

Rex was promoted to Deputy Chief Executive Officer in 2015. Since promoted to Deputy CEO, he has demonstrated competent leadership through securing important business and transformation opportunities. He was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in 2019.

Rex has been appointed by the Government of HKSAR to various advisory and statutory bodies since 2011. He is currently a member of the Construction Industry Council, Occupational Safety and Health Council, Hong Kong Housing Authority, Common Spatial Data Advisory Committee, New Energy Transport Fund Steering Committee and Committee on Self-financing Post-secondary Education. He is also Council Member of the City University of Hong Kong (CityU).

Apart from the above appointments, Rex is currently a member of Hong Kong Housing Society. He is also the First Vice President of the Hong Kong Construction Association. Rex is the Deputy Director of the Large Infrastructure Committee of the Belt and Road General Chamber of Commerce and Panel of Judges for the Quality Award of the HKMA. Moreover, Rex is a member of CityU’s HK Tech 300 Investment Sub-committee and the Departmental Advisory Committee for Architecture and Civil Engineering.

In terms of local and the Mainland affairs, Rex is a Committee Member of the All-China Youth Federation, a member of the Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and the Vice Chairman of the Shanxi Youth Federation.

Among Rex’s professional qualifications and education, he is a Registered Architect in the United States. He received the Honor Award for Excellence in Design from GSAPP at Columbia University in New York and served as President of American Institute of Architects (AIA) Hong Kong chapter in 2017. Rex is recognized as a LEED AP by the US Green Building Council, as well as a BEAM Pro by the Hong Kong Green Building Council. He also holds an EMBA degree from the Kellogg-HKUST Executive MBA Program.

In 2022, he received the Young Industrialist Award of Hong Kong from the Federation of Hong Kong Industries.
