Mr CHOW Hin Poon Hugh
Mr Hugh Chow joined Kum Shing as a Special Advisor to CEO in 2022 and became Acting Executive Director in 2023. Currently, he oversees Kum Shing’s strategies for acquisition, investment, and innovation.
Hugh is a veteran with over 30 years of experience in the fields of technology, investment, management, research, and engineering. He is a member of several Hong Kong advisory and statutory bodies, including the HKSAR Government Smart Traffic Fund Management Committee, Transport Advisory Committee, Road Safety Research Committee, Our Hong Kong Foundation and Hong Kong Technology Advancement Group.
Prior to joining Kum Shing, Hugh held senior roles in various private and listed companies, covering a range of responsibilities from administrative to engineering management. He served as Chief Executive Officer at the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) from 2018 to 2021, leading Hong Kong’s largest government-funded research and development centre and making significant contributions to applied science and technology.
Hugh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hong Kong and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado in the United States. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at the City University Hong Kong Academy of Innovation and as an Advisor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Policy Research Centre for Innovation and Technology.
